Jon Kelley, a long time dispatcher for Trinity EMS, is hosting a blood drive on Feb 13th and 14th, 2010 from 9:30am to 4:30pm (Sat.) and 3:30pm (Sun.) at the Pepperell Community Center. Jon's son, Trent, was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma in May 2008 and spent 41 days at Children's Hospital. He underwent eight straight days of radiation at Bringham and Women's Hospital and was treated for blood clots in his chest and brain.
"He is doing really, really well," said Jon Kelley. When Trent was first diagnosed and undergoing radiation, he lost his hair. His dad, remaining positive and to show his son support, shaved his head so they would look like "twins". Now Trent is feeling better and doing great. His hair has grown back and was able to play Little League last spring.
The Kelley family has held blood drives for Children's Hospital in the past. Feeling better Trent wanted to run another one, so stop by the Pepperell Community Center this weekend.
